Getting Rid Of Shoulder Pain & Stiffness

Are you interested in relieving your shoulder pain? Everybody has heard of the rotator cuff, but do you know what it is? It is a group of four muscles that control the movement of your shoulder. There are muscles which include the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis. If these muscles become over worked or damaged, it can cause shoulder pain. Many athletes experience problems with their rotator cuffs due to over use or injury to the muscles, this results in pain and decreased mobility.

Understand what shoulder joint is all about:

The shoulder joint is a highly mobile joint; as a consequence, it is a very unstable joint. It is important to make sure that the shoulder joint is in proper alignment. My treatment adds a new dimension to physical therapy, manipulation and mobilization. There are many chiropractic techniques to rehabilitate the joint into proper alignment. Mobilization is also beneficial in patients suffering from rotator cuff problems. Mobilization techniques restore movement in the shoulder joint and increase the range of motion. Manipulation and mobilization alone decrease pain and increase mobility, but I don't stop there.

Rotator cuff breakage is complexed:

The rotator cuff muscles become tight and sore when they are overworked, this leads to pain. I perform therapies to relax the muscles and reduce the pain. Muscle stimulation sends electrical impulses into the muscle and helps the muscle to relax. Muscle stimulation also aids in blocking the pain. Ultrasound sends sound waves up to 2 inches into the body. These sound waves increase blood flow to the area which decreases inflammation and helps speed up the healing process. Once the patient is out of pain, it is important to rehabilitate the shoulder with stretches and exercises. It is crucial to work on all of the muscles; otherwise some muscles will become stronger than others making the joint unstable. Often times we do not realize that we are only working on one muscle or one group of muscles and ignoring others. I show my patients exercises to strengthen all of the muscles. Stretching is important to prevent injuries and keep mobility in the shoulder. I provide the treatment for your shoulder pain that you have dreamed about.
